Drug Investigation and Control Department

Drug Investigation and Control Department with its laboratory highly specialized in pharmaceutical –chemical investigation of drugs and medical substances used in the Armed Forces exists as the MMA unit since 1953. As of 1996, it has been authorized to carry out regular control of drugs and medical substances for the needs of manufacturers not having such a capacity.

The Drug Investigation and Control Department provides the following:

• Qualitycontrol of drugs and medical material of domestic and foreign manufacturers (as a Contract Control Laboratory)
• Qualitycontrol of pharmaceutical raw material
• Qualitycontrol of galenic preparations
• Qualitycontrol of dressings
• Qualitycontrol of glass and rubber packing material
• Development, introduction and validation of analytical methods, development of analytical procedures (Part II E), evaluation of stability of drugs due to their aging, development of Protocol on Stability, reading results and making reports on stability (Part II F) required for the issuing or reissuing of the permission for their introduction into the market.
