Congress of Plastic Surgeons

The Serbian Armed Forces Club was the venue tonight of the 11th Congress of the Serbian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery -SRBPRAS. Held for the second time in Belgrade, it has international participation.
Ceremony was attended by the President of National Assembly of Serbia and Acting President of the Republic Slavica Đukić-Dejanović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Zoran Jeftić, heads of the MMA’s clinics and other participants of the Congress.
Opening this year Congress, President of National Assembly of Serbia and Acting President of the Republic Slavica Đukić-Dejanović pointed out that large number of the guests and international character of this event confirms the need of Serbian citizens to learn, exchange the experiences and to become experts, professionals and educators not only in Serbia but also far beyond.
Head of the Military Medical Academy and President of the Serbian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Marijan Novaković wished a worm welcome to the members and guests. He said that the Congress after its three working days is primary intended to give a retrospective look at the latest achievements in the field of plastic, reconstructive and esthetic surgery.
Among 150 participants from our country, the plastic surgeons from Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Australia also took part in work of the Congress.
The Meeting endures until Friday, May 18. The first two working days of the Congress will be organized at the “Hyatt” hotel and the last, third day in Military Medical Academy. The participants will cover the following fields: reconstructive surgery (breast and congenital anomaly surgery), microsurgery, tumors, surgery of the palm and burns, esthetic surgery, and cosmetic medicine.
During the first two working days, there will be lectures, poster presentations, satellite symposiums and mini-workshops, while the third day is devoted to the three surgical procedures to be performed at the Military Medical Academy’s Operating Block. That way will offer all the participants in MMA’s amphitheater the possibility to closely view the surgery performances and establish direct communication with the surgeons as well.
