Good impressions from the Congress of the Balkan Military Medicine Committee

The delegation of the military medical service of the Republic of Serbia led by the Acting Head of the MMA Colonel Prof. Dr. Miroslav Vukosavljevic participated in the 23rd Congress of the Balkan Military Medical Committee (BMMC) held from 11 to 14 May 2018 in Antalya, Republic of Turkey.
At the Congress, with a total of 226 participants from six BMMC ​​member countries, our delegation submitted 18 papers (14 oral and four poster presentations). In the scientific program which main topics included medical support in the first combat line and in mass casualties, aviation medicine, as well as multiple traumatic injuries treatment and modern approach to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, 335 scientific papers were presented (171 oral and 164 poster presentation).
Traditionally, oral and poster presentations from each country were awarded and awards were given to Dr. Dejan Pilcevic from the MMA Nephrology Clinic for his oral presentation on the epidemiological and clinical features of complicated malaria cases in the Central African Republic and Dr. Mirko Dolic from the MMA Psychiatry Clinic for poster presentation on repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of depressive disorders.
The scientific program of the BMMC ​​Congress, which is held every year in one of the member countries since 1995, was assessed with a high grade at the post-congressional meeting dedicated to summing up the impressions and planning the Committee's next activities.
