New Residents at Military Medical Academy

The MMA’s head Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Marijan Novakovic extended a warm welcome today to the young physicians who are starting the residency program at Military Medical Academy. On this occasion he wished them all the best in further education adding the fact that this opportunity represents the best way to ensure the work and quality permanence of providing medical services in the framework of Military Medical Academy and the complete system of military healthcare.
There are 15 military and 24 civilian physicians who received resident status at Military Medical Academy due to the public call announced on April 1, 2012. The programs included for military physicians are interne medicine (three residents); air force medicine, general practice and pneumophysiology (two residents for each medical field) and neurology, psychiatry, epidemiology, clinical pharmacology, forensic medicine and pathology (one resident for each field). Four civilian physicians are starting their residency from neurology, while there are two from each of the following areas: interne medicine, ophthalmology, nuclear medicine, pathology, dermatovenerology, clinical pharmacology, transfusion medicine and sanitary chemistry and six residents from psychiatry, general surgery, chest surgery, urology, cardiosurgery and toxicological chemistry.
Along with new residents, a total number of persons attending their residencies at Military Medical Academy is 65.
