New members of the Serbian Medical Society Medical Academy

Belgrade, June 13 - Membership of Medical Academy of Serbian Medical
Society has increased by four new members from the Military Medical
Academy. At the yesterday election session, Prof. Bela Balint from
Transfusiology Institute was promoted into a regular member of the
Medical Academy thus giving recognition to this top transfusiologist,
hematologist and one of the pioneers of molecular medicine. Another
three members: the Chest Surgery Clinic head and the Serbian Medical
Society president Col. Prof. Vojkan Stanić, PhD, AF Medical Services
chief surgeon and General and Abdominal Surgery Clinic head Col. Prof.
Nebojša Stanković, PhD, and the head of Clinic for Maxillofacial and
Oral Surgery and Implantology Col. Prof. Nebojša Jović, PhD, became
corresponding members of the Academy.
Membership of this Academy represents affirmation of expertise and professionalism of the Military Medical Academy and special distinction awarded to the Military Surgery Service, which has been, since its establishment, MMA trademark.
