Preparations for 4th Pan European Congress of Military Medicine

The Delegation of the Defence Ministry of the Republic of Serbia composed of the Chairman of the International Committee of Military Medicine – ICMM Colonel Prof. Dr Nebojsa Jovic and the Secretary of Pan European Working Group Prof. Dr Slavica Vucinic paid an official visit to the Department of Military Medical Services of the Republic of France from 6th to 7th October, 2015. Their host was the Head of the Military Medical Services Department of the Republic of France Major General Patrick Godart.
The development of the bilateral cooperation in the field of military health care and the preparations for the 4th Pan European Congress of Military Medicine, to be held from 23rd to 26th May, 2016 in Paris in the organization of ICMM and the Defence Ministry of the Republic of France, were main goals of the meeting.
Main topics of the Congress, which is going to be one of the most significant events of the military medicine in the world in 2016, will be ethical dilemmas and humanitarian law in operations, emergency management of the injured in war conflicts and reeducation and rehabilitation of the injured. Round tables will encompass cooperation with other international organizations, above all with the International Red Cross Committee as well as with the NOGs. The Delegation of the MoD of the Republic of Serbia proposed the additional topics for the round tables as well as lecturers by invitation. The experiences from the 3rd Pan European Congress of Military Medicine held in Belgrade in 2014 showed as valuable and practical solutions suggested by the Serbian delegation were approved and appreciated. During their visit, the Serbian delegation toured the School of Military Medicine and Pharmacy in Val-de-Grace where 4th Pan European Congress of Military Medicine will be held.
