Professional Advanced Training in Patient Health Care

Belgrade, January 23, 2010. – Within the framework of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and Germany, a civilian employee, Ms.Živka Pivić, a medical nurse from the MMA’s Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology was sent to Naumberg and Hanover on a nine-month advanced training in patient health care and medical documentation management.

Upon completion of the three-month German Language Course in Naumberg, Mrs. Pivić spend six months in Fachsanitätszentrum Hannover, Emmich-Cambrai –Kasarne where she had the opportunity to learn about the organization and capabilities of that Center, new approaches to the treatment and care of surgical and immobile patients with a particular focus on decubitus (pressure) ulcer prevention. She also raised her awareness about the advantages of modern equipment and well organized IT system in the patient treatment and care.
At the end of her stay in Hanover, the Center’s Administration commended her commitment and capabilities. Ms. Živka Pivić introduced her hosts into capacities and capabilities of the Military Medical Academy, and the organizational structure and functioning of the Healthcare Service in our institution.
