Symposium "Anglo Serbian Days of Anesthesia"

The expert meeting of English and Serbian anesthesiologists named "Anglo Serbian Days of Anesthesia" was held in Belgrade in the period October 4-6, 2012. This international symposium, gathering a numerous lecturers from the country and the world, has been organized for the fifth time by the Serbian Association of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists and under the auspices of Military Medical Academy.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Military Healthcare Department Colonel Prof. Dr. Zoran Popovic, who offered a cordial welcome to the attendees on behalf of the Ministry of Defence medical service, and the MMA’s head Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Marijan Novakovic. Prof. Dr. Dragan Vucovic addressed the meeting participants through his introducing lecture about the Serbian anesthesia in the past and the future. The special emphasis was given to the role of Great Britain anesthesiologists making the first steps in the Balkan modern anesthesiology.
Two-day Symposium covered successfully visited lectures treating the modern topics from this medical field, including nine lecturers from the Military Medical Academy. Prof. Dr. Neil Sonny from Great Britain, a common participant of this kind of meetings, received the solemn diploma delivered by the Association and presented an interesting lecture with the title "Myths in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care".
