Symposium of nephrology nurses at MMA

Symposium for medical technicians in the field of modern clinical nephrology, dialysis and transplantation organized by the Clinic for Nephrology of the Military Medical Academy was held at the Military Medical Academy.
Head of the MMA Nephrology Clinic, Colonel Prof. Dr Djoko Maksic, in the introductory speech, emphasized the importance of continuing education of nurses and technicians, but also of medical staff in general, taking into account all available ways of advanced education in modern times. As he said, mastering all the possibilities and methods of treatment, which are especially numerous in the field of nursing care of nephrology patients, makes the medical technician an independent and genuine medical assistant.
Lectures during the two-day symposium included the area of ​​complete nursing care in both hospital and home care settings. Important topics such as the prevention of complications and hospital infections in chronic peritoneal dialysis and acute hemodialysis, transplant patients education, dialysis efficacy in vitally endangered patients, as well as other specific areas of nursing work in this branch of internal medicine were addressed.
