21. 06. 2023

Head of the Military Healthcare Department, Brigadier General Dr. Radivoje Anđelković met with the Head of the Medical Corps of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Norway, Brigadier General Peter Ivensen at the Military Medical Academy.
Given the reason for the visit - the meeting of the Serbia-Norway management board in the field of military medical cooperation, the meeting was attended by members of the MMA and the Belgrade Center for Military Medical Institutions with experience in peacekeeping missions, international education and the work of the Balkan Military Medical Forces.
The topics of the conversation included the evaluation of the previous cooperation, the agreements reached, as well as the consideration of further guidelines in the work. It was concluded that further bilateral cooperation in the field of military medicine is based on the realization of courses and on the training of medical personnel in various fields with special emphasis on general surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, veterinary care, anesthesia and dentistry.
The military medical cooperation between Serbia and Norway has been successfully implemented for a long time, and it is reflected mostly through participation in multinational operations and exercises with a special focus on the Balkan military medical forces and the engagement of the light field hospital that the Kingdom of Norway donated to the medical corps of our country in 2007. The light field hospital is used for the training and specialization of members of the military medical system, for the implementation of military medical exercises, and is also activated to provide assistance to the population in emergency situations on the ground affected by mass disasters.
