Expert meeting of radiologists at the MMA

The meeting of the Section for Radiological Diagnostics of the Serbian Medical Society, organized by the Institute of Radiology of the Military Medical Academy, was held at the MMA.
The head of the Institute of Radiology of the Military Medical Academy, colonel Dr. Dragan Dulović, in his opening speech emphasized the successful cooperation with all health institutions and university centers in the country. As he said, by the end of November 2022, all goals in the treatment segment were achieved, and the annual results of radiology at the MMA were 64,096 examined patients and 70,010 performed procedures. He especially mentioned the strengthening and training of the staff because in the past period the Institute became richer for eight radiology specialists, six senior radiology technicians, 12 doctors specializing in radiology, as well as four doctors of science.
President of the Section for Radiological Diagnostics SMS prof. Dr. Jovica Šaponjski, welcoming the gathering, said that it was a special honor to speak in the jubilee year - when SMS celebrates 150 years of existence, but also that the radiology section is also one of the oldest associations. He referred to the important professional meetings held in the previous period, of which the Congress of Young Radiologists stands out in terms of the number of participants.
The traditional gathering of radiologists at the MMA after a two-year break due to the coronavirus was also an opportunity to present awards to the most deserving members. Retired colonel Dr. Mirko Draganić was awarded a lifetime achievement award, and certificates of appreciation were presented to the President of the Section for Radiological Diagnostics of Vojvodina, prof. Dr. Sonja Stojanović, president of the Association of Radiologists of Serbia, prof. Dr. Ružica Maksimović and member of the Presidency of the Section prof. Dr. Radiša Vojinović for his special efforts in the organization of expert meetings.
The professional meeting also included five lectures on radiological diagnostics of the bone-joint system. Starting with the orthopedic aspect of hand and foot injuries, which was discussed by the head of the Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology of the MMA, colonel prim. Dr. Aleksandar Radunović, a lecture by Primarius Dr. Goran Đuričić from the University Children's Clinic "Tiršova" on radiology of the hands and feet in the pediatric population followed by, while Lieutenant Colonel Primarius Dr. Miroslav Mišović from the Military Medical Academy spoke about ultrasound examinations of the most common pathological conditions of the hand and wrist. Dr. Perica Adnađević from the Clinical and Hospital Center "Dr. Dragiša Mišović" presented on ultrasound examinations of the ankle joint and foot, and Lt. Col. Dr. Ratko Stamatović from the MMA held presentations of MR cases of the hand and foot.
