Belgrade, June 30 – The representatives of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Medical Committee from 16 countries led by Dr. Lawrence D. Rink, the Chairman of the FISU Medical Committee, paid a visit to the Military Medical Academy.

On that occasion, Dr. Rink expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to the leadership and all the MMA members for the preparatory work they completed to ensure the effective provision of medical support to the Universiade 2009.

‘’We are very satisfied with the cooperation established with the Military Medical Academy as well as with its capacities. I would like to congratulate you on the excellent organization, high standards and professionalism demonstrated in the execution of the highly important mission in the interest of both the sport and youth,’’ said Dr. Rink.

The MMA’s head. Major General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtić, thanked Dr. Rink for his appraisals and stressed that provision of medical support to the largest youth sports championships in the world is a great honor to all the MMA employees, but at the same time, it carries a great responsibility and a challenge from the organizational and professional aspects. By carrying out that mission, we are promoting Serbian medicine and its contribution to the youth and sport and, in the long run, to the future of humanity,

‘’Let’s take this event as an opportunity for establishing cooperation between the Military Medical Academy and medical institutions of the participating countries, let us all be ambassadors of health, all committed to preserving and improving it,’’ said General Jevtić.

The most responsible representatives of the Academy introduced the FISU delegation members into the work and achievements of the Academy and their engagement within the Universiade 2009 framework.

During the visit, the guests were taken to a tour of the MMA’ Emergency center
