Hypertension and Diabetes

Expert meeting on "Hypertension and diabetes", organized by the Clinic for Emergency Internal Medicine, was held at the Military Medical Academy.
The Deputy Head Col. Prof. Dr. Dragan Dincic said that this is a very important medical topic, given the fact that hypertension as the cause of mortality takes the first place, and diabetes the third place. Unfortunately, these two diseases often accompany one another and in such patients 72 percent of overall mortality rate is higher. Having in mind that those diseases are usually developed in patients with unhealthy living habits, good cooperation of endocrinologists and cardiologists is necessary in order to get to the right drug therapy.
