20. 11. 2014

Military Medical Academy hosted today multidisciplinary symposium covering the topic "IgG4-Related Disease" under the organization of the MMA group of clinics for internal medicine.
Opening the event, MMA Head Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Marijan Novakovic characterized medicine as progressive science demanding permanent professional training and multidisciplinary approach, as something the Military Medical Academy is well-known for. The Head of the MMA group of clinics for internal medicine Col. Prof. Dr. Djoko Maksic stressed that IgG4-related disease represented a systematic disease discovered just ten years ago. Its pathogenesis is not still clear, but thanks to multidisciplinary approach more diseases from this range are being discovered and successfully treated.
Lecturers who shared the experiences with the guests were specialists in nephrology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, surgery, endocrinology, pulmology, cardiology, pathology and radiology, while the efficacious treatment is being largely contributed by immunologists, biochemists and the other medical specialists.
