MMA at the preventive cardiology congress

At the Congress of Preventive Cardiology, which was held for the second time in a row on September 28 and 29, 2023 in Belgrade, papers on the topic of preventive cardiovascular medicine were also presented by the doctors of the Military Medical Academy.
MMA doctors participated in a separate session entitled "Traditional cardiovascular risk factors and new cardiovascular markers: is a healthy soldier in fact a healthy person?".
Colonel Asst. Dr. Nenad Ratković and Assoc. Dr. Nemanja Rančić, in addition to the role of moderator of the session, held notable lectures on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in Serbia and presented the results of studies concerning the relationship between the concentration of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in plasma and traditional cardiovascular risk factors in active military personnel in the Republic of Serbia as well as cost analysis of the ischemic heart disease screening program conducted among active military personnel in the Republic of Serbia. Along with them, Dr. Maja Stojanović spoke about the current recommendations of traditional cardiovascular risk factors and new cardiovascular markers, and Dr. Milena Pandrc about the prevalence of traditional cardiovascular risk factors for coronary artery disease and elevated fibrinogen among active military personnel.
The congress was organized by the Working Group for Prevention and Rehabilitation of Cardiovascular Diseases of the Association of Cardiologists of Serbia.
