Belgrade, February 15, 2011. – By the Decree of the president of the Republic of Serbia, the   former head of the Military Medical Academy, Major General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtić was promoted and appointed   the first Rector of the newly established Serbian Defense University, within which the academic potentials of the Military Medical Academy, Military Academy and Military Technical Institute are functionally integrated

The position of the MMA head was assumed by Colonel Prof. Dr. Marjan Novaković, the former head of the MMA Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Burns.
