Novelties in the field of hygiene

The meeting of the Hygiene Section of the Serbian Medical Association organized by the Hygiene Institute of the Military Medical Academy was held at the MMA.
Welcoming the participants from health institutions in the country and the region, the Head of the Preventive Medicine Department of the MMA, Colonel Prof. Dr. Srđan Lazić emphasized the historical connection between civilian and military healthcare, considering that military doctors participated in the formation of healthcare in our country.
In the introductory part of the expert meeting held with the theme of novelties in preventive medical work, the Head of the Institute for Hygiene of the MMA, Colonel Dr. Siniša Mašić, spoke about the development of the Institute founded in 1945, plans, capacities, tasks and results so far, as well as cooperation with civilian health institutions. This was followed by lectures by members of the Institute of Hygiene of the MMA, namely, LtCol Dr. Nikola Čikiriza PhD, who spoke about the influence of clothing made of different materials on physiological parameters during exertion, first-class captain Dr. Sanja Lepić on nutrition, habits and knowledge of the diet of health and non-health workers, lieutenant colonel Dr. Daniel Pešić on the influence of different climatic conditions on the physiological parameters of the active population, while the lecture by M.Sc. farm and med biochem. Marina Peruničić Lučić covered the determination of ethanol in liquid dietary supplements.
In conclusion, the president of the SMS Hygiene Section, prof. dr. Aleksandar Ćorac has expressed his satisfaction with the meeting at the MMA after a long time, noting that the presented works are proof of the necessary joint engagement in various fields, and meetings like today are a way of mastering a wide range of knowledge and the basis of military-civilian cooperation, which jointly contributes to the well-being of the people.
