The 15th Liver Transplant Surgery Performed at the MMA

Belgrade, November 26, 2010 - In the night of 25th November, 2010, the MMA’s transplant team performed the15th liver transplant surgery on a middle-aged patient. This surgery successfully performed by the expert team headed by Prof. Dr. Bela Balint was particularly significant for the fact that it was the first time the patient got the liver transplant of a different ABO type.
The organ explanation was done in the Serbian Clinical Center, whilst the entire procedure was coordinated by the Biomedicine Department.
The early postoperative recovery course of the transplant patient went well.
